![]() ![]() So thanks Randy! I'm pleased and everyone who was at the house last weekend loved the game and your spinners. If anybodys interested in them contact me. I have two originals Arkanoid spinners with the buttons and wiring harness's attached BTW. They are very close to the original feel of the Arkanoid spinner. I'm extremely pleased with the way these spinners look and operate. I found the correct connector at Radio Shack and they plugged right into my TB harness I already had. The trouble is that most arcade style spinners that you can buy are optimised for Tempest, but the vast majority games that support paddles/spinners (or games that support single axis mouse control and would benefit from a rotary controller. Right when I was ready to order the other spinner he came out with the new knobs! I ordered two knobs with the Accu-twist feature and another TT2. An optimal Arkanoid spinner has high resolution, low weight, and stops dead when you release it. I was very happy with the quality of the TT2. He then suggested the lower CPR version of the TT2. He asked about the degrees of rotation of the TB for a screen traverse of the Vaus. I talked to Randy at GGG and he was super helpful. However I Love Arkanoid too so I decided to try spinners instead. I had to remove the TB's and could not play the TB games. Unfortunately when I installed the TBs, due to the almost vertical control panels of the Nintendo cocktail the balls would fall forward and not maintain contact with the rollers. I ordered the board and two trackballs since the board will support two in cocktail mode. With my available time limited with the house and new job I decided to copout and go this new easy route. I never did get a satisfoctory program going. I was remembering the difficult time I was having fitting the PC in the cab and getting a front end loaded. A couple of months ago I heard about the 60-in-1 board and its ease of assembly and use. The game sat under a pinball machine waiting the the right time. I moved, got remarried, and switched jobs. ![]() I ordered some controls and cut the control panels to accept a flat aluminum plate. It was very tight with no place for a keyboard. For a long time I was going to go the MAME route and even had a computer stripped and wedged inside. After some swearing and jury-rigging I got it to fit. I decased a 19" PC monitor and swapped the mounting brackets from the shot arcade monitor. I applied a couple of coats of auto basecoat/clearcoat which came out nice. There wasn't anything useful left so I gutted the cab and striped the finish. I don't have before pics but I'm pretty sure it was a mouse home for a while. This game stared out as a decrepit Yee Ar Kung Fu. I've learned a lot from this and other arcade forums so now I can give back a little of my experiences. ![]() As a long time lurker here on the BYOAC forums I figured I should post my finished 60-in-1 cocktail. ![]()
